Dinner out with the gang

July 1 – Our last day off and no special plans.  I did a load of wash and Bill washed the car and the front window of the RV.  Being under the trees it constantly has debris and pollen all over it.

The plan was for the 4 volunteer couples and the 2 owners to meet in Willimetic and the Brew House for dinner at 6.  We thought we’d go to a movie and run a couple of errands in that area before dinner so after lunch we showered and left.  Timing was not in our favor as usual and we were too late for one showing and the next would make us late for dinner.  We took the cooler with ice and picked up some lunchmeat and a few other items at Wal-Mart and were headed to McD’s when we decided to check out the other big grocery in the area, Big Y.  What a nice store!  Huge and clean and very good quality veggies and fruits.  We did get a few more things and Bill signed up for the free Senior Silver card that gives you special discounts each week.

We headed over to McD’s and did some emails and research of hotels for our trip to Maine on our next days off.  The time went quickly and before we knew it we needed to head to the restaurant.  Parking there is a big problem.  We circled twice and found nothing and the 3rd time around we spotted 2 of the couples walking in and they had found spots, darn!  Bill let me off and he parked behind the town hall that was now closed.  Dinner was very good and we had lots of laughs and shared stories.  I could not believe it was almost 8:30 when we left.  We invited everyone to our place for dessert.  I made a rhubarb crisp this morning and a half batch of coconut macaroons and dipped half in chocolate.  I knew the one couple would not come as they don’t eat sweets but only Ron and Barbara that we work with came.  That was OK, we sat and visited til 10 and she toured the RV and we talked about the new one they are considering.

Once they left we watched TV until midnight.  Not normal for us but with the sugar in our systems we didn’t wind down as early.
