Shopping and a bit of sightseeing

Captains Log September 27 - Jeff and Kim left early this morning for Georgia. Safe travels to

them!

Nansi was taking Carole to the DMV for her vehicles' annual check up, and this afternoon Nansi has plans with a couple of her friends here so we pretty much went off on our own for the day.

Kam asked me to find some Talavera pottery planters that you hang on the wall. I had looked up several places that carry Talavera (which I love) and we tried to see them in location order. No luck at the first place. They had tons of beautiful pieces but not wall hanging. The 3rd place had not opened timely according to their website and we waited til 11:10 and no answer on the phone so we headed across town to San Xavier del Bac Mission. We love the mission and often they have Native Americans whose land it is on that have stalls there and sell jewelry and food. Sadly for us, today there was no one making Indian Fry Bread – bummer! After visiting the Mission we stopped at another pottery place, like the other they had lots of Talavera but not what I was looking for.

So we headed back to the closed one. She had 10-12 of the pots I was looking for and after 30 minutes of measuring and sending photos to Kam so she could pick what she wanted, we added her 2 pots to the items we chose to leave with and Mission Accomplished!

Once we got home we had a late, late lunch! Too tired from driving around to venture over to Carole's house. So we turned on some TV and as always, we spent some time reading.
