More bad news......

September 29 – And the trouble still follows us….

Bill and I didn’t hurry around and eventually went down for breakfast.  They have the Belgian waffle machine and today served sausage patties, scrambled eggs, French toast sticks and the normal cereal, oatmeal, pastries, fresh fruits, juices, milk, coffee and tea!  No we did not leave hungry!

After breakfast we showered, dressed, filled Molly’s water bowl and food plate and headed down to the truck.  As Bill walked behind the truck to get to his side he saw someone had broken into our truck bed!  It was all disorganized and disheveled.  Most of what was in there were bags of books, bags of things we were taking out of the RV but they stole Bill’s portable pressure washer!  At least they didn’t take the new aluminum ladder!  They also didn’t take our small Coleman cooler or our towing attachments!  I went to the front desk to report it and asked if they had cameras.  They only have them at the side exits and inside the motel and said he was sorry and we could call the police.   We decided that would be a waste of time as it wasn’t expensive enough to file a claim or be tied up with half of the day.  What a bummer!

Once we got to Carole’s we put the ladder, our cooler and our tow gear in her storage.  The stuff left is our books (I’m not sure they can read) and Thrift Store stuff that I’m giving to my friend Jean for her shop!  Buttheads!!!!

San Xavier Mission
We did have a nice afternoon with Carole
Fry bread is the best!!
at San Xavier Mission.  It dates back to the 1800’s and is quite beautiful inside.  It’s on a reservation and the natives set up booths in front where the make and sell fry bread.  We get it with cinnamon and sugar but they can make it into what is called Navajo Taco, with meat, beans, cheese, lettuce and tomato, etc.  It was so good!  Carole just had a tiny piece of mine and Bill had his own.

We sat inside the Mission for a while and just gazed at the beauty of

it as many people came in and walked the naves.  We stopped next door in the gift shop and all bought something.

There is also a permanent structure area that used to had several Native craft and jewelry shops but today there were only 2 open.  They have beautiful things but we didn’t find anything we wanted today.

On the way back into town we stopped at a Goodwill.  Bill and Carole got books and I got a wine glass!  I broke my favorite one in the RV so was in the market for a new one.  Cost me .99!

We settled in at Carole’s with the TV on and Carole and I crocheted while watching.  She got out the leftover pork roast, potatoes and heated up some spiced apples and we had a feast!  Not much was left!  Then we headed back to the living room for more TV and crocheting!  We left just after 7 so we could get back to the motel to watch the season ender of “Chesapeake Shores”.  I then got on my laptop while Bill read.  Not sure what all is on the agenda tomorrow other than a trip to get more clothes from the RV and see if they have a tracking number on the radiator.  Then I think we’re going to lunch with a good friend of Carole and Herb’s that they’ve know for years and years.

Wish I could have rigged up something special for any one who goes in the back of the truck again!!!
