September
28 – It was not a good night! Molly was
at the head of the bed on my side and growled and hissed at me so I couldn’t
sleep there. I had to scrunch up from
the bottom and tried to undo the sheets and blankets, etc. Bill had the fan going so high I felt I was
in a wind tunnel. So I had a second
night of not getting enough rest!
Bill
and I had cereal for breakfast and I missed my coffee. Carole gave it up years ago! I wasn’t about to carry my Keurig machine
around, so now I had a headache most of the day from lack of sleep and no
coffee!
I
had plans to meet Patti, who is the best friend of Sherri that we volunteered
with this summer. She came to Island Park
for a week and we really bonded and enjoyed each other. She picked the place so we were meeting at
1. I left early to go pick up my script
from Walmart and look for southwest towels to match the ones I’d gotten out
here before. I picked up a couple things
Bill wanted and made it to the restaurant at 12:45. What a nice place, BJ’s Restaurant and
Brewhouse! Patti was right on time and
we chatted a while before ordering and each got a meal salad. I was excited to have Ahi Tuna with
mine! We didn’t leave until 3:45! I only left then because Bill and I had
decided that Molly was way too miserable to make her stay at Carole’s so I made
reservations starting today at Country Inn and Suites by Radisson. We needed to go check in!
We
hauled Molly and all of our stuff into our room. We’re on the second floor and have a king bed
and it’s a very roomy room. Molly did
her sniff about and promptly got on the bed and chilled. That cat does love motel rooms. She was back to normal, never made a
peep!
Once
we got things all situated we made a quick stop for teriyaki sauce to use in
making dinner and went back over to Carole’s.
She had taken the chicken breasts out to thaw that I brought from the RV
and I cut it into 1 inch chunks and put it on to sauté in a big skillet and
then added a bag of rice with Asian veggies.
Once it was close to ready I dosed it good with teriyaki sauce and
finished it off. What a delicious
meal! I used a pound of chicken breast
and the 3 of us ate all of it but about ¾ of a cup! Carole just kept saying how good it was and
she normally eats like a bird! She was impressed with my idea to make it into a
Asian meal. Oh, and the sauce I bought
was the brand she’d always used but was no longer able to find! I told her to keep the bottle and I will go
back to the store near the motel and get another bottle for me to use.
Once
dinner settled we each had a mini Klondike bar
for dessert and watched some TV. When
Bill and I got back, Molly acted like it was no big deal! We watched a bit of TV and I set up my laptop
and did a bit of journaling before bed!
