Driving with the slide out again!!!

September 10 – The plan was to get up and on the road by 9:30 since we could only drive 45 mph, but we managed to get on the road at 9.  We were only going to Jerome, ID which was only 70 – 80 miles but took us 3 hours!

Before leaving I put a pot roast with baby Yukon Golds and carrots in my little crockpot.  I used ½ of an Au Jus gravy packet, ½ of a dry ranch dressing packet, 2 tablespoons of butter on top, and a ¼ cup of water.  Let it cook all day and boy, by supper time, did it ever smell good in the RV!

We arrived at the Jerome Fairgrounds for an Idaho State RV Rally.  It’s a small rally of 60 or so rigs.  We were rather early and got a nice spot in a paved lot with water and electric, within walking distance to the hall where everything will be happening.  Once we got set up I called an RV Dealer and asked if they had a mobile tech.  They did not but recommended a company they refer people to.  I called them and he said he’d call in the morning and let us know who and what time to expect a tech once he did the schedule.  At least we felt more comfortable with someone referred by a dealer.  The guy Bill called first never called back.

The rally registration is tomorrow.  Bill helped a couple of RV’s with hook up’s etc.  Once we had lunch and had the service tech scheduled I left in the truck for Twin Falls.  I got to do some “real” shopping!  I went to JoAnn’s, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Penney’s, Bath and Body Works and Bed, Bath and Beyond.  Everything I bought was on sale, clearance or I had coupons!  They have a nice one level mall and several shopping centers.  I left the thrift stores for when Bill goes with me!

It’s only about 15 miles to Twin Falls, so nothing like everywhere else we’ve been this summer.  It was nice to get out on my own and take my time.  Bill was fine at home with enough books to keep him occupied!

When I got home it was time to get that dinner on the table.  I have to say, it was the best pot roast I’ve ever made.  The seasonings made it so tasty and it was really pull apart tender.  I thought it would be enough for 2 meals, but don’t think it’s quite enough left!

I worked some on my crocheting, then read until I was asleep on the couch.
