Green Bay

June 20 -  This hour time change really plays with our schedule. I was up at around seven Eastern standard time and Bill got up around nine Eastern standard time. We had a quick breakfast of bacon, fruit and a muffin and since we have been using water from our freshwater tank Bill did not even have to put the hoses away. Basically it was unplug the RV and go. Well, go means to the dump station on the way out because our gray water tank was full.

This really was one of the nicest places we have stayed since we have been RVing. Everyone we met was super nice and the facilities were pristine and you could not ask for a better setting.

Once again the traffic was very light until we were close to Green Bay, Wisconsin. We were headed to the town of De Pere to the Apple Creek Campground. It’s just five or 6 miles south of Green Bay. I will have to admit this campground was not nearly the quality of where we were last night. It’s very steep and narrow going down into the park and due to lots of shade trees there was very little green area. When Bill came out he said there was a second entrance that we needed to circle around the entire park get back out on the roadway and then go to the other entrance which has pull through‘s for bigger rigs.  It was greener and more open so the satellite would work.

The new issue was they were not very level so it took us a while to block up the tires and level. We have 50 amp service available but our surge protector was getting an error, so Bill switched it to 30 amp and we still were not getting power. I did not know what else to do but try the breaker for the main power.  The 30 came on so we just left it that way. It is considerably warmer than what we’ve had the last few days so we need to leave the AC running for Molly.

We had some lunch and I put a load of
Green Bay Hall of Famers
laundry in and then we headed back into Green Bay to Lambeau Field. This is Bill’s thing and I certainly do not mind him coming here to see the stadium and the Hall of Fame. But it is not worth $20 or $30 for me to go on these tours. I told him I had no problem waiting in the car for however long it takes him.  I brought a book and I had some phone calls I needed to make regarding the sale of our rental house. It also gives me time to look and see if there are any stores nearby that we might want to stop at on our way back to the RV. Tomorrow will be lighthouse day again!

It didn’t take long to get to the stadium as it is right off of the interstate. Not knowing where to park we chose the first place we found and then Bill called me later and said that’s a long walk to where he had to go so he suggested I go ahead and move the car. I parked right in front of their souvenir store and Atrium, I believe it is called, where the stadium is next-door.

I made my calls and read a few chapters of my book.  He was back sooner than I expected as he did the Hall of Fame but decided not to do the tour of the stadium.  He said he’d NEVER been in a team store that had a many different items as this one.  He said there was everything you could ever imagine with a Green Bay logo in there.  He got a couple of things for his nephew who is a BIG fan.

We were missing a Wisconsin map so the AAA office was a few blocks away so we stopped and picked one up.  Then we stopped at a different Wal-mart on the way home for more fresh fruit and veggies.

Bill washed the front of the RV again as the road bugs are plentiful and huge.  I put the groceries away and prepped dinner.  Once he was done I made chorizo quesadillas and salads.  I baked 6 shortcakes and we had strawberry shortcakes with cool whip.  I debated on making whipped cream in my dispenser but then we’d need to use it up fairly quickly, so cool whip seemed a better option.

We have good WIFI here so I did some catching up on the blog and uploading photos.  Bill folded the laundry, wrote some post cards and read.
