And more lighthouses remember Michigan has more lighthouses than any other state....

June 12 – Didn’t plan too far to go today so didn’t rush this morning.  Once we were packed up we had to stop at the dump station and then we pulled out just past the road into the park and hooked up the truck.

Bill at the Crib Light
We headed to Cheboygan where we saw Cheboygan Crib Lighthouse, Fourteen Foot Shoal Light,   Poe Reef Light and Cheboygan River Front Range Light.  That one was inland a bit next door to the Fraternal Order of Eagles.    We stopped in their parking lot and Bill got out and took the photos. Bill had called for directions to them this morning and we will go where he called to get my stamps for those 4 tomorrow.

While at the Crib Light we met a couple from Florida.  Bill chatted
14 Foot Shoal Light
with him while I chatted with her.  They are only on a one week road trip and apparently moving along pretty fast. They had been to Dearborn to visit the Henry Ford Museum and said they were shocked at the filth, and condition the current residents were leaving stores and shops in.  Shoes, clothing, and what ever they didn’t want were left on the floors.

Poe Reef Light
Just before the Mackinaw Bridge we pulled into a Visitor Center and had lunch.  They had 3 state trooper vehicles, one with an enclosed trailer, and they were examining 2 tour busses.  We couldn’t really tell if they had people on them and watched one of the officers roll under the bus on a mechanics cart after having

the bus drive up on higher rails so he could get under it.  After we ate we went it the Visitor Center and Bill asked what was going on.  She said they were just doing safety inspections, yeah, right!  Bill thinks they check for bombs before going on the bridge.

So over the bridge we went, then the phone GPS and the RV GPS didn’t agree on what road to take to the TIki RV Park in St. Ignace,
Crossing Mackinaw Bridge to St. Ignace
and of course we listened to the wrong one.  We arrived but not by the best route.  The campground is nice.  We had the opportunity to volunteer here but had already accepted the spot in Muskegon.  After dinner we walked the park and met couples from Mississippi and North Carolina.  One is a full timer and one just travels when they feel like it.

The internet sucks here!  Lasts about 10 minutes, then, poof! It’s off.  Not sure when I’ll be able to post my blogs!  We’re here for 3 nights!
