Viewing the devastation but having a great meal!

Great dinner at Simply Seafood
May 18 – Larry and Carissa left this morning after we all gathered at Paul and Jean’s RV and chatted for a while.  We went home and after lunch we got ready to head with Jean and Paul to Panama City and Panama City Beach.  We saw more and more of the hurricane devastation from October and so many places just left and neglected, blue tarps rotting off and whole neighborhoods abandoned.  It was a very sad sight.

Beautiful yet eerie full moon
We did a bit of shopping before heading to the restaurant that is a favorite of Jean and Paul’s.  Apparently the restaurant has been closed since the hurricane!  We were all looking forward to crab legs but fortunately we were told about Simply Seafood not far down the road.  There was a short wait and it’s not a fancy place.  The seafood is all baked or broiled, nothing fried.  It was very yummy!  Paul and I had the special, lobster tail and choice of shrimp, scallops or fish with 2 sides.  Jean went with shrimp and grits and Bill had steamed shrimp.  It was all delicious except the dessert wasn’t as good as the meal.

The ride home was full of laughs and jeering as it always is with the 4 of us.  That’s what real friends bring to the table!
