Time for some exercise!

Not much water but drops into a sinkhole
May 17 – We both slept pretty well after a long and tiring day!  After breakfast Jean came over and visited and once we got dressed and ready the 6 of us walked the trail to see the falls.  The trail is a bit rugged but the falls looked nothing like the brochure due to the time of year.  Just a small trickle was currently flowing but it’s still very pretty and the drop is 73 feet into a sink hole.  There are numerous sinkholes along the trail and a capped well from 1921 that never made anyone rich.  We walked to the other side and back around to the lake that feeds the falls.  We were all tired, hot and sweaty!  Time for lunch and then to our next adventure!

Bridge to the lake
After lunch we all got in Jean and Paul’s SUV and we headed to Marianna to see the Florida Caverns.  It’s less than an hour from us and we saw more of the hurricane devastation.  Unfortunately the caverns have never reopened since the hurricane and no one thought to even check.  We checked out the city and ended up at Wal-mart for a few items each.  We drove around “downtown” Chipley on the way back and stopped at McDonald’s for various ice cream creations and sat and visited as we told stories for almost an hour.

Bill set up the grill and we had everyone over to grill tonight.  The guys gave up early but the ladies sat out until dark and enjoyed the beautiful moon out tonight.  Dinner was good as everyone grilled their own and we shared side dishes.  As usual, no one let hungry!
