Road to Santa Fe

October 3 – Once again it’s pack up and move on further south.  We managed to get on the road around 10 for the 120 miles south to Santa Fe, NM.  The route went through Alamosa and then directly south through a valley on all 2 lane road.

We passed the train station in Conejos, CO which reminded up that we took that train on one of our trips years ago.  There was a tour bus parked wither dropping off or picking up passengers.  We love those old trains.  We don’t get them too much on the east coast!

I did get to see several prairie dogs standing up along the road.  Such little cuties!  If there was a place to pull over I’d have pictures of them!

We arrived in Santa Fe at Roadrunner RV, where we stayed before in the 5th wheel.  Bill said he knew we’d been here but I didn’t realize until we were to pull in.  Nothing has changed!  It’s right on the road and very level with big spaces.  Three of the packages we had sent had arrived so we’re expecting 2 more before we leave.  Once we settled in I put the new burner that came on my stove and it seems to be working fine again!

While I fixed the burner and worked on the computer, Bill went across the street to gas up the car and take a run through the car wash.  Somehow he scraped the front side.  Geez!

Later this afternoon we drove into Old Town Santa Fe.  Just checking things out for the day we go and park and walk around.  Traffic wasn’t too bad but the streets are all so narrow and some are one way.

Dinner was leftovers, so guess I’ll have to put on my thinking cap, followed by my chef hat tomorrow night.

I posted yesterday’s blog and did some typing while watching TV tonight!
