October
25 – Well the party was really over today.
The drive was uneventful, which was a good thing, just kinda boring with
no “bang” at the end. We arrived at the
warehouse where we park at around 2:30 after stopping for a brief bathroom
break for the driver and a snack for us both.
The
RV was driven 8,952 miles this trip. We
were gone 141 days, our personal record.
We put 6,349 miles on the car, so we drove a total of 15,301 miles. That’s a lot of miles. We saw lots of new places, re-visited some
favorite places, visited family and friends.
We experienced some nights in the 30’s and days in the 40’s. There were windy days and places, and quiet
and serene places. There were glorious
days filled with hot air balloons, and a few days of dreary rain and
skies. We experienced days we were
exhausted and days that we didn’t want to end.
We met lots of new people and made new friends. And when we came home, we came home to downed
trees, stick and limbs, a sink hole, no landscape lights, but we still have our
home. We are very lucky people to be
able to experience our GREAT United
States and have our home survive a
hurricane. We thank our family and
friends for keeping tabs on us and sharing our trip. We don’t always know where the road will take
us; we just know we want to be on that road.
The adventures are non-stopping, along with the repairs and RV issues,
but that just adds to the adventure.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to follow us, it’s our pleasure to
share our trips with you.
Now
begins the challenge of getting our home back in shape and planning for next
year’s trip. So, we will be in touch
when it’s time to be “On the road again”!
