Captains Log October 11 – Continuing along I-40! Not much of a fun drive but we left the desert look behind and now are in to more greenery and up and down roads. Once we crossed into Arkansas the road itself improved drastically. That's a really good thing.
Our stop tonight is actually for 2 nights to give my aching shoulder a bit of a rest. We landed in a small (under 15,000) town right off the Interstate, Forest City, AR. We were a bit leery of the campground as it didn't have a “house” number and no real website. We were pleasantly surprised that it is a very nice small park with about 20 sites and full hookups. They are very level and there's green areas, half back in and half pull thrus.
We went to a bbq place for dinner and were a little disappointed in the fatty brisket but had a nice flavor. They do have a Wal-mart here as well and a lot of nice hotels. Not sure what the attraction is or just convenience to the interstate. There is some kind of college I think also.
