Nasty Drive

Captains Log August 17- This was NOT a fun day!  Nothing but mountains for 90% of our drive

Only cool thing along the road today

to Baker City, OR.  Some short steep grades and some longer.  I was elated when Bill told me we were at the last one!  I pulled over several times to let vehicles behind me go around me, the slow poke!

There were not any “rest” areas as this was strictly a 2 lane road.  We pulled in the a truck weigh station to have some lunch and then were back on the road.

Baker City is a small town but on the way thru we spotted a lot of metal animals on the main street so I’m sure tomorrow we will drive in with the truck and get photos.

Our campground is on the edge of town right by the interstate that we will be leaving the area on.  Had no idea when we booked.   It’s another seasonal place but had overnight spots dotted all around.  We have a pull thru and that is always good.  Very level also!
