Hallelujah, We're on the Road Again!

May 11 – Once again the summer journey begins.  We left a few days early to meet up with friends in Mayo, Fl at the Suwannee River Rendezvous. It was not the best first day and far from the worst.  We didn’t actually leave until 11, which was at least an hour later than we had hoped.  We had to shut down everything at the house and load the last fridge items, chat with our bug man and Brenda our neighbor.  At the warehouse once we loaded everything we hitched the car and had to make an adjustment for the cover then we officially hit the road.

Great spot
Traffic was light and we were doing great until Bill was using his phone and didn’t tell me to turn left.  So we went about 30 miles out of our way.  We arrived at the campground around 3:20.  Three of the couples arrived on Monday, Betty and Tom, Bruce and Sharon and Bob and Cindy and once we got set up we visited a while then we went to dinner with Tom and Betty.  They are in our camping club and going to Sherando Lake with us.

Note missing hub cap

After dinner I was walking around the RV and discovered the hub cap on the driver’s front tire was missing.  Bill was not happy.   No idea when it came off as there was no rough road or bumps or pits along the way.  So, our first mishap of the trip.  Guess it’s going to be a long summer.
