April 18 - The Party is Over ---- BUT We'll be back......

Scenery on the bus ride to the airport
D day, well actually it’s T day, and a long day it was. Kerry set the alarm for 6:30 but the people in the cabins on both sides of us were up banging around so I was up and dressed when the alarm went off. I went to the front desk and settled my big bill of 8 Euros and to drop off our tip to Mick. Angela caught me in the lobby and we shared a tearful good-bye. Such a kind and sweet woman I will never meet again. We said our good-byes to Terry with a big bear hug and they were off to the bus. We had breakfast with Alan and Etsuko as their bus was later than ours. We plan to meet up with them back in Florida at some point in time.

The bus was a little late and we left for Munich at 8:30. We had plenty of time at the airport so browsed the shops, of course. I bought some Frey and Milka chocolates as I hadn’t actually bought any to take home. They were all miniatures that I could share easily.

Our flight was 10 minutes late leaving, not bad. We had 2 side seats with individual TV screens and Kerry’s stopped working the middle of Gulliver's Travels. The flight attendant tried to get it working and could not so moved us up to Economy Plus which gave us more leg room but we were in the middle seats. There were empty seats beside us so we could stow our “stuff’ and have decent room. I napped as much as possible till we reached Chicago. They served chicken for dinner, which was pretty good. Later there was a snack of shortbread cookie and Toberlone chocolate. Yum!

We arrived early in Chicago and cleared customs quickly and checked on getting an earlier flight but no seats were available on it so we hunkered down and waited out our flight.  I slept all the way and Bill was there just as we collected our luggage and heading for home just after 11 pm. Long day, great trip and we were ready to go again!
