The Long Road Home

September 9 – The party is once again over!  Ugh!  Back to reality and all the ups and downs that go with it.  We were up early since we’d have to go to the dump station before leaving.  I think by the time we closed up the RV, drove around the loop and back to get in the correct direction to dump, dumped and drove out the 2 mile canopy of trees, it was 10:00 – 10:30 when we actually got out on the road.  We didn’t stop at all on the drive home and arrived at our driveway at 2:30.

It was almost 2 hours to empty the 2 fridges, all the compartments inside and get it all in the house and the fridge stuff put away.  There were bags stacked all over the dining room.  The utility room was full of clothes, bed linens, rugs in addition to all those things from in the house since the cleaning lady came after we left.  I managed to do 3 loads of wash before bedtime.

The yard and my garden were a mess.  There had been so much rain my sister could not keep up.  We had a big tree down across the front along the road.  Kerry trimmed enough to be able to see to get out of the driveway.  The worst problem we found was the downstairs bathroom sink had leaked all summer and the bottom was ruined.  What a mess.  The joys of coming home!  Once we emptied it out and set up a fan on it we left to take the RV into Camping World for tire rotation and to have the bearings repacked.

Needless to say we were both exhausted by the end of the day.  We both fell into bed.  Dreams of another summer behind us and who knows what the next one will be!
